Wordpress upgrade

Ok, just upgraded the blog today to the newest version of Wordpress available, 2.5.1, and cleaned up some of my plugins. Decided not to use an automatic upgrade plugin, last time i did that i screwed up one of my blogs so…better to do it hands on. Found a very interesting and easy to follow guide here, i truly recommend it for someone who needs an walk-through in this upgrading matter.

How to Develop Money-Making Niche Sites with WordPress – by Caroline Middlebrook

Hello, long time no see! :D Today’s free e-book comes from Caroline Middlebrook and tells you all about using the Wordpress blogging platform in order to quickly create niche sites. The book is split into 7 main sections: getting and installing Wordpress, basic Wordpress administration, installing a new theme, setting up Adsense on your site, Wordpress plugins, creating your site content and final thoughts. It’s a good beginner’s guide for Wordpress, I even found a good plugin for updating the site to the final version of Wordpress and used it this morning on my blog. So, I think it’s a good read even if you’re Wordpress proficient, you might learn a thing or two from it. Enjoy!

The Traffic Multiplier – by Dennis Sim

Today’s special report comes from Dennis Sim. At first, this 18-page free pdf describes step-by-step a method to easy submit your article or blog post to 19 web 2.0 bookmarking sites, by using this site, OnlyWire. The method seems simple enough and I’ll make sure to give a try in the following days. In the second part of the report, Dennis presents a few tips on getting traffic, such as submitting to article directories, joining Internet forums and creating buzz by using word of mouth marketing. The pdf ends with a link to another free report you can download by registering on Dennis’ site. The most interesting thing in the report is the method described in detail to help you submit articles to bookmarking sites, which makes the reading worth while.

PLR Sting – from the Niche Laboratories

Niche Laboratories has released an 18-page free report titled “PLR Sting”. I’ve read the pdf, it  starts  with the connection between PLR (private label rights) articles and search engines, talks about duplicate content and it’s effect on a website. Then the author, Lisa Ann Ginger, gives you some tips  on the correct site building strategy, that will make your website loved by the search engines and receive natural traffic: the importance of good keywords, the  niche mail list’s benefits, using the power of the free report give-away, niche affiliate programs etc.

Basically, the report is a promotion tool for the new Niche Laboratories PLR membership site, which will bring to its members niche reports, follow-up autoresponders, keyword research, opt-in / sales pages, affiliate research and graphics. Even if you are not interested in this free membership, the report is still worth a read mainly beacause of the well-argumented point on duplicate content caused by PLR articles. So enjoy! ;)

7 Traffic Myths – by Jason Dolman

Jason Dolman has released a 33-page free report entitled “7 Traffic Myths”. As usual, this report is used to promote a product, in this case the LongTail Traffic Secrets. Though not groundbreaking, this free pdf manages to expose some common beliefs about getting traffic to a website, such as: submitting to all search engines your site, using SEO companies that absolutely “guarantee” the top position in search engine pages, using PPC to get visitors, using duplicate content, more traffic means more profit, thoughts about page rank and SEO actions, etc. It is easy to read and a good reminder on some Internet marketing techniques. Enjoy! ;)
